GENERAL RULES

ALL ENTRIES MUST BE PRE-REGISTERED BY AUGUST 1, 2011

 

1.  Extra premium lists and pre-registry entry blanks for swine, dairy, sheep, goats,beef, poultry, rabbits, etc. are available at the Wicomico County Extension Office, Nanticoke  Road, Salisbury, Maryland.  410-749-6141. Also on the web site.

 

2.  All livestock, poultry and rabbit entry blanks CAN BE DONE ON ONLINE  at http://.wicomicofarmandhomeshow.com or MAILED to Wicomico Farm & Home Show, P.O. Box 493, Salisbury, Md. 21803 by August 1, 2011.

 

3. All articles for exhibit, excluding livestock, rabbits and poultry, must be placed between 4-8 pm on Wednesday, (Aug. 17th). Livestock, Rabbits and Poultry are to be entered from 8am - noon on Thursday (Aug. 18th) and must be in place by noon on Thursday. 

 

4.  Every Article exhibited shall be under the control of the chairperson of the department in which it is exhibited.

 

5. During the judging of indoor entries, the carriage house will be closed to entrants and spectators. Only judges and directors will be permitted to enter.

 

6.  No exhibitor will be allowed to remove any article from the grounds until after the awards ceremony on Saturday night.  REMOVAL OF ENTRIES BEFORE

AWARDS CEREMONY WILL RESULT IN FORFEITURE OF PREMIUMS

 

7.  The judges will award only such premiums as they think proper whether there be competition or not.  All judges’ decisions are final. In the event, there is but only one entry in a class, the placing shall depend upon the merit of that entry and the award made at the discretion of the judges.

 

8. Articles to be exhibited must be in the container specified by the premium list.

 

9. “Miscellaneous” items must be identified as to what they are.

 

10. All exhibits to be displayed, other than livestock, must have been grown or made by the  exhibitor and not entered in any other previous Farm and Home Show.

Separate entry blanks must be used by adult and junior classes and 4-H members in all divisions.  These should have a complete 911 address and correct phone

number.

 

11. Every effort will be made to protect all entries while in the custody of the Farm &  Home Show committee, but the Fair committee disclaims any      

responsibility for loss or damage to property or person.

 

12. No person may enter more than 1 item per class except in livestock,  poultry and   rabbit classes.

 

13. Junior exhibitors must be 8 years old by January 1, 2011  and not have reached their 19th birthday by January 1, 2011.  Please state age on junior entry blank.

 

14. Under no circumstances will any entry be accepted from persons judging that department.

 

15. Articles left after the show closes will be transferred to the Wicomico County Extension Office, 28647  Nanticoke Road, Salisbury.  If left after October 1st, articles

become the property of the Wicomico Farm & Home Show.

 

16. The Wicomico Farm & Home Show  has added a Professional Section to some departments for the purpose of competition among persons who derive an income 

from the sale of items listed. Winning exhibits will be awarded ribbons and prize money only.

 

17. All premium checks  must be cashed within 60 days of issue date. All 4-H members from Wicomico County enter in the 4-H Department. All 4-H members from other counties enter in the Junior Department. All 4-H members may enter in Junior Open classes if no class exists in 4-H Departments.
