OUR PRESIDENT
Welcome to the 75th anniversary of the
WICOMICO FARM & HOME SHOW
The Wicomico Farm & Home Show came to be in 1936. Local farmers,
businesses & individuals formed a group to compete and show off their
achievements; such as their favorite baked goods, canned goods,
woodworking projects, produce & of course, livestock.
Today,
many of these same items remain, as well as new ones; artwork, photography
and handwork of all types. Exhibiting at the Farm & Home Show has become
a family tradition over the years with 4th & even 5th
generations entering their achievements.
Our Bluegrass Jamboree has moved from Friday night to Thursday night in
conjunction with the addition of the “Delmarva Star” competition. We are
also having a live remote with CAT Country on Thursday night. Among our
competitions this year are the Fried Chicken and Cornbread and the Kids
Photo Contest. Livestock shows will be going on each day.
We listened to suggestions made after last year’s show and have moved our
Antique Tractor Pull to Saturday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. rather than
Saturday morning.
August 1, 2011 is the pre-registration deadline. Pre-registration can be
done by mail or online at
www.wicomicofarmandhomeshow.com . Additional premium books
will be available at numerous locations in June.
This year’s show begins August 18th and runs through August 20th.
Admission is FREE. Mark your calendars and come join us for three fun
filled days!
